Henk Hoving and Thijs van Reijn, the godsons of Mr. and Mrs. de Winter, are both present at every dies or every New Year’s Eve dinner. Despite their age, both are still very involved with Arago and are often around. In doing so, they ensure that the spirit in which the association was created continues to exist. They’ve been doing this for years in the name of De Winter. The half-yearly dinners they organize for former board members allow the concept of ‘Open Huis de Winter’ to live on.

When you speak with them during such a dinner or at an Arago activity, you immediately notice that they have a big heart for our association. They like to keep up to date and find it essential that Arago is well represented at, for example, the Dies of the UT. With this in mind, we invite you to ask Henk or Thijs about the history of the De Winters and, thus, the history of S.A. Arago. They are extraordinary stories that only they can tell well.

In honor of these and more special efforts Henk and Thijs have been making for years, the General Members’ Assembly has chosen to give them the title of Honorary Members on September 12, 2019.
