Herman Offerhaus – Winner mevrouw De Winterprijs 2025

On Friday, December 19, the Mevrouw de Winter Award was traditionally presented during the Dies lecture. This award is given annually to someone who contributes to one of Arago’s core values and/or pillars. This may include promoting physics in society, supporting the Technical Physics education, or supporting activism and extracurricular broadening.

As the 99th board, we awarded the Mevrouw de Winter Award to Herman Offerhaus. Herman has supervised the Bachelor’s End Project twice, has been involved in the open days, and has given several lunch lectures for Arago, such as the recent lecture on different schools of philosophical thought. We therefore awarded him the prize because Herman supports the pillars of Arago in multiple ways.
