Marcel ter Brake – Winner mevrouw De Winterprijs 2014

Marcel ter Brake received his PhD at the University of Twente in 1986. He has been a professor here since 2010. He is currently the chairholder of the department of EMS (Energy, Materials and Systems), but is more commonly known as a teacher of thermodynamics (formerly known as Energy & Entropy) and module coordinator of the second module. Marcel is a very helpful person and is always open to input of students. He looks critically at his own work and strives towards improving himself and his lecture subjects. Besides this he also coordinates many bachelor and master projects within his department. Marcel has been an employee member of S.V Arago for years and also contributes to symposia by being Master of ceremonies or by arranging speakers. Due to his pleasant attitude and contribution to Arago, Marcel ter Brake won the mevrouw De Winter Prijs in 2014.
