Piet van der Wallen Mijnlieff – Member of Merit since the 15th of March 1990 until the 3rd of September 1996

As professor of the Rheology chair, Piet van der Wallen Mijnlieff was one of the first teachers to be involved with Arago. Some even say that he was present at more Arago activities than the average student. In his period as dean, he even made sure that the attendance of staff members at these activities was always high.
Piet also invited many boards for dinner at his home, and even allowed them to visit his richly filled wine cellar. His dry-wit humour, generosity at drinks and his unbroken attendance of the Friday afternoon drink will be remembered by many students.
Al this, and of course also his role as one of the many “Sinterklazen”, has allowed him to become a Member of Merit in 1990.
